How does one go about getting into teaching career .Someone who does have a masters degree but has never taught but now wants to start, several years after obtaining masters degree?
Does it involve taking more courses to catch up ?

My friend?s husband did this ? after his company did a large reduction in force and many people were let go. He already had a college degree, but not in teaching. He had to go back to school to get teaching credentials. It won?t take 4 years, if you already have a college degree, but it will take a couple for you to get all the course work in.

Some areas that have teacher shortages will give you tuition reductions if you promise to teach for a pre-specified number of years.

Every school system has its own requirements for their teachers, so you should inquire at your local school central office, and also contact some of the universities in your area to see what they have.
