HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - The chairman of Pennsylvania?s Gaming Control Board says he and fellow members of the panel realize they have an image problem.

Testifying at a state House hearing on a scathing grand jury report about his agency, the new chairman of the Gaming Control Board said none of the current board members were on the panel during the time covered by the grand jury investigation.

William Ryan says he and his colleagues know they have work to do.

?A realization that we do have to regain the confidence of the people, the confidence of the legislature, the confidence of the governor.?

Ryan told the House Gaming Oversight Committee that he supports efforts by some lawmakers to move the gaming board?s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement from the gaming board to the attorney general?s office, but said he?s not supportive of legislation that would limit the board?s ability to deliberate casino applications in private.
